"It's not good-bye, it's see you soon"

I'm finally sitting down to add a new post to my blog. Things haven't been so good lately, and it's been pretty hard to deal with life. One of my really good friends passed away last week, after a 15-month battle with cancer. Yesterday we went to her funeral and I think everyone cried enough to fill a swimming pool. It was such a beautiful service and such a lovely way to remember her life. She influenced so many people and it was so wonderful to see so many people there. Dad estimated there were at least 350 people, which is incredible! She was so loved, cherished, admired and her life was such an inspiration to us all.

She will be so dearly missed. But we rest in the knowledge that it's not good-bye. She is flying high above the stars and we will one day be up there shining alongside her.

She was such a beautiful young woman and in her 20 years of life she made such a huge impact in the lives of everyone around her.

I don't think we will ever understand why she was brought into this life only to have two short decades on this earth, but I do know that our lives have so been so enriched by the presence she did have.
