Jewels of Kentucky comprises two novellas recounting the parallel stories of two women finding love, family and a sense of purpose in 19th century Kentucky.

Living Her Dream takes Keira Mortimer to Russell Springs where she plans to live out her dream and become a nurse. She is drawn to rancher Bradley Newman the first moment she sees him, but convention and shyness keep them from sharing more than a few words. It is only through her work and their shared concern for a woman and child suffering constant beatings by Newman’s cruel neighbour, that they are brought together.

In Your Courts follows Faith Larkin’s journey to the town of Berea, where she hopes to get over the loss of her own family by helping bereaved pastor Colin Horner care for his. While Faith may be won over by Pastor Horner, will she ever be able to come to terms with the fact that the young farmhands working for his neighbour could be her own missing children?
